About Ave Maria
Ave Maria is its own community in Florida just outside of Naples along Oil Well Road and Camp Keais Road. Ave Maria History
Did you know that Ave Maria owes its existence to Domino's pizza? The founder of Domino's, Tom Monahan, was one of the leaders bringing this beautiful town into existence almost overnight. Located just 25 miles east of Naples, the master-planned community of Ave Maria was established in 2005 by a partnership of Baron Collier Companies and the Ave Maria Foundation primarily led by Tom Monahan who invested $250 million into this new community.
The community features the Ave Maria University serving over 1000 students and has been ranked as one of the top 10 colleges in Florida by USA Today. The University is primarily a school of Law accredited American Bar Association Law school with 375 students. Tom Monahan was the university's first president.
Today, Ave Maria is a mixed-use, master-planned neighborhood with an old-fashioned, small-town feel connecting the Gulf Coast region of southwestern Florida. It's primarily residential neighborhoods with a few commercial zones. Residents have access to recreational amenities and an established town center with a resort-style waterpark, two expansive community parks, picnic areas, playgrounds, and quality education.
Ave Maria Schools
Residents of Ave Maria typically attend the Collier County Public school district and are zoned for Estates Elementary School, Corkscrew Middle School, and the Palmetto Ridge High School. All of the schools are about 15 minutes from the center of town. There's also a few private schools such as a private preschool called the Ave International Pre-School and of course the Ave Maria University located within the community.
Things to Do in Ave Maria
Traveling east on Oil Well Road past Orangetree, you'll come upon the fantastic community of Ave Maria. Head north into the community and you'll come upon the Ave Maria Town Center. This unique, colossal building in the center of town features a wide range of shops and restaurants, a visitor center, and the icon in the center, the expansive Ave Maria Catholic Church.
But residents have much more than religious services to keep them busy. Enjoy over 5000 acres of residential homes, micro-neighborhoods, and amenities such as the 12,000 square-foot social and recreational facilities of the Oasis Club. Enjoy a fitness center, catering kitchen, veranda, game rooms, and social and relaxation amenities with full-time staff.
Enjoy tennis at one of the many courts available at the South Park Recreation area and Oasis Club. Enjoy the waterpark with resort and lap-style swimming pools, water slides, a relaxing spa, beach volleyball, and concessions. The Orange Jeep Tours are perfect for exploring the neighborhood preserves and nature areas and of course, shopping is on paralleled with casual dining, retail stores, boutiques, and commercial services.
Ave Maria also features walk-in clinics with urgent care services at the Ave Maria Dentistry, Braden Clinic, Results Care, and the Ave Hearing and Chiropractor office.
Of course, downtown Naples and Bonita Springs are no more than 10 to 30 minutes away featuring many more shopping and dining options. The Southwest Florida International Airport is just 45 miles from this community and just 35 miles from the Naples Municipal Airport.
